Efferding Selected to NCAA Singles Field; Ore/Withrow Named to Doubles
Efferding, who hails from Boca Raton, Fla., earned the nomination after compiling a 16-8 record on the spring. The sophomore became the first player in A&M history to upset the top-ranked player in the country when he ousted Alex Domijan of Virginia on March 13. Ore and Withrow garnered a 5-8 seed in their selection. The tandem is currently ranked ninth nationally after compiling a 14-8 mark on the spring. Ore, a junior, and Withrow, a sophomore, defeated the No. 6 ranked team of Hernus Pieters and Ben Wagland of Georgia on March 31 in Athens. The pair has faced off against five of the top-eight seeds in the tournament, earning a 1-4 mark against top-notch competition.
The freshmen duo of Harrison Adams and Shane Vinsant was also selected as an alternate team for the tournament after advancing to the USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships in the fall.
