COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Aggies are looking to get back on the winning track in their last game before hitting the conference circuit. A&M hosts Houston Baptist coming off a pair of losses to wrap up its series at No. 8 Cal State Fullerton. A victory by the Aggies would put Rob Childress on the 300-win plateau for his career. After batting just .225 in the opening weekend of the season, A&M is hitting .300 (135-for-450) over the last 14 games.

Mikey Reynolds has a hit in each of his last 16 games, the longest string of his career. He is hitting .492 (31-for-63) during the span three doubles, 14 runs, 10 RBI and nine RBI. The streak features nine multi-hit games, including four three-hit games and one four-hit game. He has logged a first-inning hit in seven of the games. He has also reached safely in all 17 games. Reynolds still has some work to do for the school record. RJ Englert strung together a 28-game hit streak in 1972. In more recent annals, Tyler Naquin logged a 27-game hit streak in 2011.

CHILDRESS CLOSING IN ON 300 WINS
Head Coach Rob Childress enters Tuesday's game with the chance to reach the 300-win plateau. In his eighth year as the skipper of the Aggies, Childress owns a 299-160-2 record. He trails only Mark Johnson (876 - 1985-2005) and Tom Chandler (660 - 1959-84) on A&M's career win list.

TEXAS A&M/HOUSTON BAPTIST SERIES NOTABLES
The Aggies and Huskies have met on four prior occasions with A&M owning a 4-0 edge in the all-time series. The squads first met in 1967, with the Aggies posting a 4-0 win. They met two years later and A&M was victorious, 6-5. Houston Baptist made its first appearance at Olsen Field in 1998 and the Aggies greeted them with a 9-2 win. Last season, the Maroon and White won 7-2 behind a stellar performance from Jacob House who went 3-for-4 with one double and four RBI. Mikey Reynolds went 3-for-4 with three runs and two stolen bases.

MORE ON HOUSTON BAPTIST
Houston Baptist enters the fray with a 6-8-1 record. The Huskies are coming off a three-game series against Penn State, losing two-of-three. Houston Baptist has three players hitting over .300, including Mike Chamberlain (.348, 10 runs, 3 RBI), Samm Wiggins (.317, 8 runs, 6 RBI) and Luke Clements (.316, 8 runs, 9 RBI). In 2012, HBU went 28-33 overall and finished fourth in the Great West Conference with a 15-13 mark. This marks the Huskies last season in the Great West Conference. In 2014, HBU will begin play in the Southland Conference. Houston Baptist's lone former player to reach the Major Leagues is Trevor Enders who pitched in nine games for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 2000.

BRATSEN STEALING THE SHOW
With six stolen bases on the year, junior OF Krey Bratsen moved into fourth place on the Aggies career stolen bases charts with 58. He is five steals from third place, trailing No. 3 Steven Truitt (63 - 1997-99). Jason Tyner owns the school record with 118 from 1996-98.

Bratsen stole 31 bases as a freshman, the seventh-best season in school history. Last season, Bratsen racked up 21 stolen bases.

Texas A&M is in the midst of its first season in the Southeastern Conference. After 16 seasons in the Big 12 Conference, the Aggies will meet a new set of league mates. This year, A&M will face 10 of 13 possible conference opponents in the regular season, with no series scheduled against Florida, Kentucky and Vanderbilt this season.

The Aggies are 122-84-3 (.591) against current members of the SEC, including 3-0 vs. Alabama, 38-29-1 vs. Arkansas, 6-1 vs. Florida, 3-1 vs. Kentucky, 15-12-1 vs. LSU, 4-2 vs. Ole Miss, 8-6 vs. Mississippi State, 44-32-1 vs. Missouri, 0-1 vs. South Carolina, 1-0 vs. Tennessee. With long-time Big 12 companion Missouri out of the equation, A&M enters 2012 campaign with a 78-52-2 (.595) mark against the old guard.  Texas A&M has never faced Auburn, Georgia and Vanderbilt.
