COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The Texas A&M Aggie Baseball team will host the second annual Aggieland Idol on Thursday, January 24 in the Cox Diamond at Blue Bell Park.  Contestants will audition for an opportunity to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" before an Aggie baseball game this spring.

The event, which is open to all students and Aggie fans, will take place from 6:30-9:30 pm with a 5:30 pm registration time.

Texas A&M baseball head coach Rob Childress will lead the three-judge panel. All singers and instrumentalists are welcome and will be asked to perform 30 seconds of a song of their choice and 30 seconds of the national anthem.

Members of the 2013 baseball team will be on hand before 6:30 to sign autographs and greet guests as they come in. Aggieland Idol is a great opportunity to see the Cox Diamond Club and support the Aggies.

Texas A&M begins the 2013 campaign on Feb. 15 when the Aggies welcome UIC to Blue Bell Park for a three-game series.
