Aggies Climb to Fifth at Fall Preview

An 8-over 298 on Saturday propelled the Texas A&M women's golf team up the standings and into fifth place after two rounds of the Liz Murphey Fall Preview at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

ATHENS, Ga.-The No. 23 Texas A&M women's golf team shot just eight over par Saturday to end the second round in a tie for fifth place at the Liz Murphey Fall Preview at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

The Aggies are currently tied with host Georgia with a score of 595 (+19). Leading the tournament for the second day in a row is Auburn with a score of 580, just four over par. Alabama (+9) is in second, with North Carolina (+10) and Southern Cal (+16) following in succession. In seventh place is Oklahoma (+20), trailed by Tennessee (+21), Duke (+21), Denver (+21), UCLA (+23), Tulane (+24), Virginia (+24), Purdue (+25), South Carolina (+26), Vanderbilt (+26), LSU (+29) and California (+23).

Juniors Katerina Ruzickova and Chelsea Mocio led the team with scores of one over par during round two. Senior Mary Michael Maggio is currently the team's highest ranked individual, recording a score of 146 (+2) and tying for 15th place. Ruzickova and senior Sarah Beth Davis follow closely with scores of 150 (+6) and 151 (+7), respectively. Juniors Natalie Reeves (+7) and Mocio (+10) round out the team's total for the first two rounds of the competition.

The third and final round will begin Sunday at 7 am (CST). The Aggies are paired with Southern Cal and Georgia and will tee off from the first hole beginning at 8:50 Sunday morning. Live scoring for the event can be found at GolfStat.com.
