Three Aggies Tabbed All-America Honorable Mention

Texas A&M's Lindsey Miller, Alisia Kastmo, and Allie Sawatzky have been named AVCA Honorable Mention All-America, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced today.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M's Lindsey Miller, Alisia Kastmo, and Allie Sawatzky have been named AVCA Honorable Mention All-America, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced today.

Miller, a senior from Katy, Texas, garners the honor for the second consecutive year, while Kastmo (Tyler, Texas) and Sawatzky (St. Andrews, Manitoba, Canada) receive the distinction for the first time.

Miller finished her stellar-four career having started every match and leading Texas A&M in hitting percentage, blocks and blocks per set every year. This season the middle blocker hit .363, which ranks sixth in the A&M all-time season records, was fourth amongst players in the Southeastern Conference this season and currently ranks 40^th in the nation. She also ranked seventh in the conference with 1.06 blocks per set.

Miller, who also received AVCA All-South Region honorable mention and All-SEC first-team honors this year, capped the regular season by posting her 1,000^th career kill and being named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Earlier this season, the team captain was named to the Texas A&M Invitational All-Tournament Team and was a candidate for the national Senior CLASS Award. She completed her collegiate career ranked third in the A&M all-time career records with 409 block assists, fifth with a .311 career hitting percentage and sixth with 462 total blocks.

Kastmo started every match this season and led the Aggies and ranked in the top 10 in the SEC in kills (3.54), aces (0.24) and points per set (4.01) to earn AVCA All-South Region and All-SEC first team laurels. The senior right side hitter proved to be A&M's go-to-player, leading the team in kills in 17 matches. She posted double figures in kills in 24 of 31 matches -- including each of the last nine contests - and tallied 20 or more kills in a team-high four matches.

Sawatzky, a junior setter, orchestrated an A&M offense that led the SEC and is currently ranked in the top 15 in the nation for kills and assists per set. An AVCA All-South Region honorable mention and an All-SEC second team selection in 2012, Sawatzky averaged 10.31 assists per set and led all SEC setters with 1.82 kills per set while hitting .274. She also averaged 2.03 digs per set and registered 11 double-doubles and was named to two all-tournament teams.

Like Miller, Sawatzky has started every match throughout her career and also received SEC Offensive Player of the Week laurels earlier this season. She will enter her senior campaign with 3,440 career assists, ranking third in the A&M career records.

Miller, Kastmo and Sawatzky helped direct Texas A&M to its most wins since 2001 as the Aggies went 25-6 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Championship. The trio also helped lead the Aggies to a 16-4 conference record, an SEC Western Division championship and a second place finish overall in A&M's inaugural season in the league.
