Bullock Earns Consensus All-America PK Honors

Texas A&M senior Randy Bullock earned consensus All-America placekicker honors after being included on four of the five NCAA-recognized select teams.

Bullock, from Klein High School near Houston, was named to the Sporting News' All-America team on Thursday, and previously earned All-America honors from the Associated Press, the American Football Coaches Association and the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Bullock was one shy of unanimous honors with the Football Writers of America selecting Oklahoma State's Quinn Sharp at placekicker.
 
Bullock also earned All-America kudos from SportsIllustrated.com, CBSSports.com, Pro Football Weekly and CollegeSportsMadness.com. In addition, Bullock received the 2011 Lou Groza Place-Kicker Award, which is annually given to college football's top placekicker.
 
"It's a huge honor to receive these awards," Bullock said. "I can't thank my teammates and coaching staff enough for pushing me to get better everyday. They are a huge part of my success."
 
Bullock finished the regular season as the NCAA leader in field goals with 2.08 per game after connecting on a school record 25-of-29 three-point tries. Bullock's 127 points this season rank No. 2 nationally among placekickers, and he is one point shy of breaking A&M's 84-year old season scoring record of 128 set by Joel Hunt in 1927.

On the career field goals chart, Bullock's 58 three-pointers rank No. 2 in school history. He has connected on 58-of-75 field goal tries, which is on a school record pace for accuracy at 77.3 percent. He has scored 349 career points, which is already a school record.
