BULLOCK STATES CASE FOR GROZA AWARD:
·
Senior
PK Randy Bullock made a strong case for the 2011 Lou Groza Award with a
career-high tying field goal night against the Longhorns on national
television. Bullock booted field goals of 49, 52, 29 and 32 yards in length.
The 52-yarder was the longest of his career, and the longest by an Aggie since
1999 when Terrence Kitchens nailed a 61-yarder against Southern Miss. Bullock
is one of three finalists and will travel to Florida for the Home Depot College
Football Award Show.
·
Bullock
entered the game in a tie for the single season A&M field goal record of 21
set originally in 1986. Bullock's four three-pointers pushed the record to 25
(on 29 attempts). Bullock's 127 points in 2011 ranks behind only Joel Hunt's
128 points in 1927. Bullock also took sole possession of the season extra
points record. The old record of 51 was set originally by Terry Venetoulias in
1993 and matched by Bullock in 2009 and 2011.
·
On
the career field goals chart, Bullock's raised his career total to 58, which
ranks No. 2 in school history. He has connected on 58-of-75 field goal tries,
which is on a school record pace for accuracy at 77.3 percent. He has scored
349 career points, which is already a school record.
