Student-athletes put a tremendous amount of time and energy in their academic and athletic endeavors. When members of the Texas A&M football team do have time to unwind, the Aggies can relax in style in the brand-new football players' lounge in the Bright Football Complex.
The 5,000-square foot lounge is conveniently located on the second floor of the Aggies' new home on the south end of Kyle Field, one floor above the locker room, training room and meeting rooms and across the hall from the new state-of-the-art Academic Center. Windows on one end overlook the Aggies' practice fields, which are just steps away from the Bright Football Complex, and doors on the other end open onto the expansive second-floor patio that offers a tremendous view of Kyle Field.
The lounge is outfitted with ample leather seating and tables. Players can relax in the oversized leather lounge chairs that recline to a full prone position and watch the huge widescreen high-definition television--equipped with a DVD player--in style.
Ping pong, foosball, pool and gaming tables are situated on the south end of the room, as are several arcade-style gaming stations that feature the latest PlayStation 2, XBox and other video games.
Mounted in corners of the room are several flatscreen TVs. Immediately to the left of the lounge's entrance is a marble-top bar that contains soft drink and candy machines for the Aggies' use.
The walls are covered with color photos of current team members, Aggie football prints, and game program covers from all of Texas A&M's bowl appearances.
Ringing the ceiling of the lounge are over 30 official jerseys showcasing former A&M players who are currently on NFL rosters.
If A&M players are looking for a quiet place to read or study, a separate study room sits in the corner of the lounge that features study carrels and computer terminals.
