Josh Cohen begins his ninth season as the athletic trainer for the Texas A&M baseball program in 2013-2014.  Cohen is known for the wealth of baseball specific, sports medicine knowledge and experience that he brings to the Aggie baseball team.  Prior to his arrival in College Station, he worked with Coach Rob Childress as the head baseball athletic trainer for the Nebraska baseball team for two seasons.  Before that, Cohen gained professional baseball experience by working as an athletic trainer in both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates organizations.  Cohen has been an integral part of two College World Series runs, once with Nebraska (2005) and once with Texas A&M (2011).  In his time working at the college level, he has seen twelve different players that he worked and rehabbed with go on to play Major League Baseball.  He has been asked to speak at sport medicine conferences on topics ranging from shoulder injuries to concussions.

Cohen is originally from Old Tappan, NJ and served as a volunteer emergency medical technician in his hometown for six years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and psychology from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA and went on to receive his master’s degree from the University of Nebraska while working with the Husker football and baseball programs.

In addition to his role with the Texas A&M baseball program, Cohen is in charge of managing the pharmacy medication system utilized by the athletic department. He is a nationally certified and state licensed athletic trainer and is an active member of the NATA and SWATA.

When not working, Cohen enjoys playing golf, PlayStation, and watching movies.
